One of the casualties of the shock collapse of Pet Central - while minor in the face of the staff who have lost their jobs - was that the Dominion Chihuahua Club lost our Playgroup venue.
Pet Central, for a number of years, allowed us to use their venue, free of charge, which meant Playgroup was our only fundraiser other than shows, which notoriously run at a loss. The loss of a secure, indoor venue for our dogs to safely socialise was a real blow to us and likely to impact our financial position quite severely.
But rescue, we soon discovered, was at hand. The Doggie Gods have smiled on us and Rochelle from Kuri Dog Training and Day Care, has generously offered the use of her facility at 473 St Asaph Street, in Central Christchurch on Saturday mornings from 10:00-11:30.
We cannot thank Rebecca and Kuri enough for their help and generosity and hope you will support them and their great venue. The shop will be open on Saturdays while we are there so you will have chance to purchase food and accessories on your way in and out.
Please ensure your dogs are leashed until they are inside the playgroup arena and we look forward to seeing you all on Saturday!
