Welcome to the Dominion Chihuahua Club Incorporated

Established in 1964, we are the only speciality Chihuahua Club in the South Island of New Zealand. We meet regularly for a small dog playgroup for dogs (and human!) socialisation and about five times a year we conduct fun events where pet and show dogs compete for fun prizes and fancy dress, in addition to conducting Championship and Open shows. We embrace pet owners, Conformation Show dogs, Agility and Obedience dogs pets and rescues in our club with equal enthusiasm!

Our aim is to improve the Chihuahua breed, encourage the care of healthy, well-adjusted dogs, share our love for these great little dogs with other Chihuahua lovers and improve the wider community understanding of an often misunderstood breed.

DCC is proud to support the work of the New Zealand Chihuahua Rescue charitable trust, who are dedicated to the rehabilitation and re-homing of Chihuahuas in need.

DCC is affiliated with Dogs New Zealand. We are bound by their rules, regulations and Code of Ethics.
